If your product needs to be tested to safety or performance standards,
you should know that you have a choice of which accredited certification
or verification mark to use.
M any believe their choices
are limited to certain marks such those issued by CSA, UL, AGA or
CGA. However, there are alternative marks to choose from that are
equally backed by their accreditations, and are recognized by Authorities
Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). These include the ETL Listed Marks issued
by Intertek Testing Services' (ITS) ETL SEMKO Division.
Showing the right marks gets your product to market easily
When you partner with ITS, you can get your product tested to nearly
200 safety and performance standards applicable to workplace related
products.
This broad range of testing, coupled with our ETL Listed Marks (for
U.S. and Canada), makes it easier for you to sell your product in
North America. These marks are accepted by many jurisdictions for
electrical products and gas- and oil-fired products.
Support your product's credibility with the right accreditations
ETL SEMKO has been conducting performance and reliability tests
for over 100 years. We're recognized by OSHA as a Nationally Recognized
Testing Laboratory (NRTL) just as UL, AGA and CSA are. We are also
accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as a Testing
Organization (TO) and Certification Organization (CO).
When your products show the ETL Listed Marks, you're telling specifiers
and buyers that you've chosen an accredited company to test your
product to nationally recognized standards such as those issued
by ANSI, IEC, UL, CSA and CGA.
ETL SEMKO helps you show your product's compliance
Directory of Listed Products
When your product has successfully completed testing, it is listed
in ITS' Directory of Listed Products. This directory,

is available to you at no charge. It can also be accessed through
our website, www.etlsemko.com.
Many major corporations' corporate policies include acceptance of
the ETL Listed Marks. And mass merchandising and retailers recognize
and accept these marks. When consumers see the ETL Listed Marks
on your product, they know it is in compliance to appropriate standards
and is safe to use.
Our Technical Advisory Council consists of chief electrical inspectors
and electrical experts from jurisdictions and organizations throughout
North America. For example, the chief electrical inspector of Chicago,

In addition to this, we are very active in the International Association
